ERREKALEOR IMPROVEMENT IN VITORIA (PAIS VASCO, SPAIN)

The project consists of the revitalization of the Errekaleor river in Vitoria, which due to a wrong future urban planning, that suffocates the river, it will be irreversibly damaged if it is not operated before.
To get that aim, a fluvial park that joins the Olarizu and Salburua parks is done, completating the green ring of the city.
The motive force of the intervention is the creation of some pools in strategic points that are used as much to collect the run-off water due to the rainfalls, as to prevent possible floods since it is a torrential river bed. The vegetation of the pools also allows the water making a natural purification to return it cleaner to the river bed.
